ok i logged on to myspace it said i was phished and to change my password. i dont know how or why they did it but then they sent a bunch of hate mail and spam. im considering deleting my whole account because now there are a lot of people pissed at me what should i do ='( ='(

ahahahaha loser. XD it's just a myspace, get over it. tell the people it was a misunderstanding. if they don't forgive you or whatever, move on. I guess they're just not worth having...as a friend. o.O

Change your password, then send a bulletin saying your account was phished. It's only myspace, don't worry about it.

I had this done to me also... its something stupid... but go in and change your password that should work.. it worked for me... I go in about every few weeks and change my password... dont listen to others saying to shoot yourself and stuff they are wasting there time thinking they are cool... but you dont have to delete your account... the places your getting spam from probley doesnt even know that its coming from their account... Keep your head up its summer... =]

oh u guys need to stop being such asses. u need to change ur password to something hard to guess like snapplefruitass or something lol. and also if u were "phished" then u signed in on a fake myspace login. this is what they do, i go to myspace and click on a link they sign u out or u sign in a wrong page that gives them a password. dont b paranoid just pay attention to the Address bar. sometimes it doesnt always just say myspace.com. also u might want to change ur password on ur email and make sure u delete the e-mail when ur done. hope this helps

Hahaha!!! The problem is you weren't "hacked"... they don't go figuring out what your password is and stuff is with all of this elaborate equipment they have in their basement...

What they do is send you a BOGUS email saying you have a new message on myspace (which you don't), you click on the link IN YOUR EMAIL, and then that link takes you to a BOGUS website that looks EXACTLY like myspace, though the logo maybe "slightly" different.

What YOU then did is sign in, but when you hit submit, it doesn't sign you in (cuz you aren't on myspace's page). It sends the info you put in the sign in boxes to someone else's email who put the scam on and BINGO! They have your sign on information and can post fake bulletins and messages. And if you are like 90% of most myspace users, you probably use the same password there as you do with your yahoo email, so now they have access to your email. Now that they have access to your email, and if they are malicious, they can request personal information from online banks, schools, whatever... I know it sucks, but it happens.

Its called phishing, and I was almost phished when someone sent me a BOGUS link to a fake bank account web page.

SOLUTION? Don't ever click the link in your email that says you have a message on myspace or anywhere. Type it out in the address bar so you know you are going there, and if you think you are being phished, before you enter your login info, look at the address bar.... it should say www.myspace.com/login or something. The webpage name is the only thing phishers can't duplicate.

Change your password to myspace, email, and everything else.

post a bulletin, after you change your password, and advise all of your "friends" that they should ignore any strange comments or messages or whatever from you, as your account was hacked.

it's really that simple. if they're your friends, and they know how myspace works, and how easy it is to hack an account, they'll understand. it's really not that serious honey.
